Which Enlightenment philosophies inspired many eighteenth English authors to write satires?

It was mostly ideas of free speech and liberty. When people felt that they were politically oppressed, writers wrote satires to make fun of the government because they wanted people to change the government and the satires would help them realize what's going on.
