A drug that targets chitin should be effective in parasites.
Chitin is a primary component of cell walls in fungi and fungi can be a pathogen causing disease in humans or other organisms.
Fungi like Candida, Aspergillus, Histoplasma and many more could be stopped if his cell wall was destroyed by this drug.
