How did the Truman Doctrine shape U.S. foreign policy after World War II?

Answer: Truman doctrine = containment doctrine (author: George Kennan) which means 1) not to let Communism (as ideology or regime) to expand (look at: U.S. policy in Vietnam or Korea), 2) not to let Communism to expand to Western Hemisphere (look at U.S. policy toward Cuba and Communist regime in Cuba, look at U.S. policy toward Latinamerican Communist Left ...Chile of Salvador Allende). Truman doctrine does not summarizes all the strategy USA used in relation to world Communist movement, Eastern Block or USSR. Immediately after the WW II fear of Communism reached (in the USA) a slight paranoia (McCarthysm).
