What percentage of adult deaths is attributed in part to smoking?

It is believed that around 20% of adult deaths will be attributed in some way to smoking. COPD worsening to idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and then full respritory failure and lung cancer are two very common scenarios in the world that affect those exposed to smoke.
