From your textbook, define Absolute Monarchy and how Louis XIV was a perfect example. Provide details to support your definition.

Absolute Monarchy- "is a form of monarchy in which one ruler has supreme authority and where that authority is not restricted by any written laws, legislature, or customs"
Example- He had the longest reign on a European monarch (70 years I think..), had complete control over his decision making, ignored and sometimes even imprisoned noblemen, and created a bureaucracy and limited legislative powers.

Absolute Monarchy is a king or queen who believed that all power within their state's boundaries rested in their hands. They ruled without limits. Louis XIV was a perfect example because with his court central to French political and cultural life during his reign.
