The purpose of conservatism is to preserve achievements of the past and support the new ideas that can benefit to society, without exclusion of these old ideas. Conservatives support evolutionary change which is initiated by society, not by governments and arent revolutionary for social structure. Radical change is something that they try to avoid, and they believe that too much change can harm a nation.
