Why did both republicans and democrats recruit dwight eisenhower to run for president in 1952?

Both parties courted Eisenhower because he was a war hero from World War II. His status made each party eager to set him up on their ticket. Additionally, Eisenhower displayed no strong affiliation with either party, so both Republicans and Democrats thought they could recruit him.
