6y - 3(4/3y - 2) = 0

Multiply everything in the parenthesis by -3.

6y - 12/3y + 6 = 0

Simplify.

6y - 4y + 6 = 0

Combine like terms.

2y + 6 = 0

Subtract 6 from both sides.

2y = -6

Divide 2 on both sides.

y = -3

Hope this helps!

You'd solve it like this
6y-3 (4/3y-2)
6y-4y+6 (use the distributive property and multiply all the numbers inside the parentheses by -3)
2y+6 (add like terms)
That's pretty much it
