This is a checking account. These types of accounts make it easy to add and withdraw funds, but they typically also have very low rates of return. The funds are very safe in the accounts, up to the FDIC maximum, but they will earn very little for staying in the account. In addition, it is usually easy to open a checking account, requiring as little as $1 in some banks.
