The Allies adapted the strategy of island hopping in the war of 1945. The advantage of this strategy was that the Allies encountered less Japanese resistance. They were also able to obtain bases in order to Japanese cities that housed wartime factories. NextReset

I am guessing this is true or false question.

So this is true because, although they did that they didn't do it to over take enemy bases directly. They did this to storm beaches. Not sure exactly the reasoning behind it, but I know that is why they did it.
