Salads, in my opinion, are sides. Entrees are main, and main meals are always heavy and fulfilling. Salads are not supposed to make you full. Appetizers are tasty, easy start MEALS that boost your appetite. Salads are just vegetables with sauce. Now salads fit in the category side because it helps you with your entree so your main meal isn't so boring, and is light so you can finish your meal, without getting full because of the salad.
