Biff’s candy tax is working great for him. When any other student buys candy from the student store, Biff takes two pieces for himself for every five pieces the student buys. If George bought 35 pieces of candy, how many pieces will go to Biff? Show your work or explain your answer.

So if every student buys five pieces of candy, he gets two. And if someone buys 35 pieces of candy, think like this:
How many times does 2 go into 35? It doesn't go into 35 evenly because 35 is an odd number. So, you will get a decimal as your answer. 35 ÷ 2 is 17.5, so you put it like this:
If George buys 35 pieces of candy, Biff will take 17 whole candy bars and half of one. (17 1/2). Hope this helps!
