How would you identify glacial sediments from alluvial (stream) sediments?  Also, could certain glacial sediments be mistaken for alluvium?

if you had a bucket of glacial sediments and a bucket of alluvial sediments, you would not be able to tell them apart. Its the environment that they are in, which is the distinguishing feature. Modern stream sediments are comprised of re-worked glacial sediments.
