The mitochondria is the organelle in the cell commonly known as the powerhouse of the cell. Cellular Respiration happens here, which is basically turning many different types of energy (ahaha i'm not sure what it was I forgot) into ATP, which can be further used in the body, for active transport, and other stuff.
