Answer;

Through Plasmodesmata in plants and Gap Junctions in animals.

Explanations;

  • Plants contains structures called plasmodesmata .
  • Plasmodesmata are open channels that are located in the cell walls of plant cells. Plasmodesmata allow cells to communicate with the neighboring cells.
  • Animals on the other hand contain structures called Gap junctions in their cells.
  • Gap junctions functions to connect cells to neighboring cells.
  • Therefore; both plasmodesmata and gap junctions allow signaling substances dissolved in cytosol to pass freely between adjacent cell.

Plants and animals affect neighboring cells directly because when in terms with the plants, they use their plasmodesmata in which allowed them to communicate and affect neighboring cells. While the animals use their gap junctions that is use for them to communicate and affect their neighboring cells.
