One of the longest field studies of predator-prey population cycles has been of LYNX AND SNOWSHOE HARES.
It is the classic example of a predator-prey interaction (predation). Lynx is a predator and snowshoe hare is a prey. In this interaction, the population of predator is dependent on the population of the prey.
