The American Civil Liberties Union is a non-profit and non-partisan organization that was founded in 1920 Helen Keller, Roger Baldwin, Crystal Eastman, Walter Nelles, Morris Ernst, Albert DeSilver, Arthur Garfield Hays, Jane Addams, Felix Frankfurter, and Elizabeth Gurley Flynn, and its focus was on freedom of speech.
However, nowadays, ACLU focuses on preserving and defending the civilian liberties and rights that are guaranteed to everyone by the laws and the Constitution of the United States.
