A human karyotype is constructed from chromosomes visualized in somatic cells. Those chromosomes are called autosomes.
The autosomes are arranged according to size and numbered 1 to 22
each chromosome consists of two identical chromatids (2 identical copies formed by the replication of a chromosome)
