Cup drawing process is also called deep drawing process. The stages of deep drawing are: First, Punch makes initial contact with the work. Second is bending. Third step is straightening. Fourth is friction and compression. Final step is thinning of the cup. During the process drawing of sheet into the die, up to 12% is the thickening. That’s why clearance is provided between the punch and die.
