Eli's condition is called "Retrograde Amnesia." With this type of amnesia, a person can remember only things that happened after the injury occurred. They may lose all the memories that they had before an accident or before a certain type of illness, like a disease. They will also forget anything they learned before having Retrograde Amnesia. This can be permanent or the patient may recover some memories after a while.
