You said factor NOT solve for x.

x^2 - 3x + 2

(x - 2)(x - 1) = the product of two binomials.

x² - 3x + 2

which two numbers add up to -3 and multiply by 2?

-2 and -1

rewrite the expression using the above

(x - 2)(x - 1)
