Sun Yat-sen's Four Point Plan was based on the Three Principles of the People which were nationalism, democracy, and socialism.

The Three Principles of the People was the ideological basis of Sun Yat-sen's political program. Sun Yat-sen was the provisional first president of China from January 1, 1912 to March 10, 1912 . Moreover, he was best known as "the Father of the Nation". He developed the Three Principles of the People in order to achieve his main aim: to make China a free and powerful nation. These three principles were Mínzú (nationalism), Mínquán (democracy) and Mínshēng (the People's welfare, which is linked to socialism).
