The Albany plan was created to make a more centralized government for the British American colonies. Each colony had sent a representative to represent their state when the framers had started crafted the Albany Plan. Despite the efforts of these people behind the Albany Plan, the plan was not pushed through.

In a way, Franklin wanted their country to be independent of the Imperial British Rule by allowing them to create their own legislative, executive and judicial bodies. The British Rulers believed that if Franklin and his fellow Americans would be granted their own government, there is a possibility that people would revolt against them.
