This type of tumour may grow into, or invade, nearby tissues. But it doesn't spread to other parts of the body. There is also a cancerous form of this type of tumour, which is called malignant desmoid (deep) fibromatosis. Fribrous histiocytoma often occurs as one slow-growing lump.
