A phospholipid is a type of lipid that is made up of two distinct regions, which are the head and the tail region. The head region is polar and is made up of the phosphate group, choline and glycerol . The tail region is non polar and is made up of fatty acids.
The organic functional groups that can be found in phospholipids are carboxyl group, hydroxyl group and phosphate group.
