The major risk that is posed by increasing the concentration of media ownership is that media could become a monopoly and therefore have a greater impact on things like news (meaning what we see and what we don’t see) as well as things like elections to make people think everyone else is voting one way when that may not be the truth. Therefore it is important ensure that there are many different media owners.
