A person that has diabetes has issues with their tissue repairing itself. Therefore, with nail care, they must be careful not to injure themselves. If they do injure themselves, they could get a foot ulcer. They are supposed to be very careful when trimming their nails. They are supposed to trim around the shape of the nail and even file the nails so that there aren’t sharp edges, and they aren’t supposed to cut cuticles, bust open blisters, get rid of ingrown toenails, or break any skin on their feet.
