How did Europeans obtain slaves?

According to what I just looked up Europeans obtained slaves from African rulers which once the demand grew for slaves the African traders started to capture other Africans and sell them to the Europeans.

As demand grew, African traders (some) would capture other African Americans and sell them as slaves to the Europeans.
