This type of media also called the Glycerol Yeast Extract Agar or GYEA  is composed of 0.5% glycerol, 0.2%yeast, 0.1% dipotassium phosphate and 1.5% agar extract. This media enhances the growth of Gram-positive spore formers group and Bacillus. It also is a media for the bacteria Actinomycetes which produces antibiotics.
