The tools and skills the people from the ice age used to survive were spears to kill the mammoths. They also used the mammoths' fur for jackets and their meat for food. They also ate some plants. The skills they used were hunting, developing weapons, and they learned to make fire which was used for warmth and to cook food. They also made tools used to grind and mix minerals to create paint for paintings. That didn't help them survive though. What really helped them survive was warm shelters and clothing made from skinned animals and their bones for shelters and strong weapons to kill animals and cutting tools that allowed them to made shelters and clothing. They used all of these tools, skills, and resources to survive.
