Hello there!

-4(y - 2) = -8
Use the distributive property
(-4)(y) + (-4)(-2) = -8
-4y + 8 = -8
Then, subtract 8 from both sides
-4y + 8 - 8 = -8 - 8
-4y = -16
Divide both sides by -4
-4y/-4 = -16/-4
y = 4

Best of luck!
