1/4 + 1/2 +x=−3/4

I just need someone to help explain how to get the answer my teacher explains everything way to confusing

First combine like terms which are the 1/4 and 1/2
The bring the rest of the equation down
Which would give u 3/4
Then u subtract 3/4 from both sides since your answer is already negative u add
Then u will get
X = -1.5

work from the left to right.
add 1/4 and 1/2 which would give you 3/4
then subtract 3/4 from both sides of the equal sign witch would give you
x=-3/2
