I would say that the statement that he was an Enlightenment thinker and publisher of Poor Richard's Almanac. He was also a founding father of the US. He was a leading author, printer, politician, scientist, inventor statesman and diplomat, among other things. He invented the lightning rod, bifocals and the Franklin stove.
