Deborah Sampson's army service was much more dangerous than that of her male military comrades, because during the revolutionary war, she was tasked to infiltrate and scout neutral enemy territories, while disguised as a man. Her cover was blown a year and a half in her service, due to her accidental unconsciousness, which she was needed to be rushed into the hospital. Her true gender was hidden, until the time it was discovered, during her trip to the hospital.
