ATP synthase is a molecular motor which make use of the proton potential created by the action of the electron transport chain in mitochondria of cells. ATP synthase transport a proton down the gradient and use the energy to complete the phosphorylation of ADP to ATP. When a new proton [H+] enter the ATP synthase, THE TOP PART OF THE ATP SYNTHASE ROTATES.
