Some colonists refused to renounce their mother country of britain. instead they hoped for

Reconciliation, the colonist felt they had a bond with Britain, after all, it was their homeland. Not everyone wants a revolution and some wanted to reconcile with the British as they felt they had a connection to it. However, that did not happen.
