When you throw a ball directly upward, what is true about its acceleration?

From the moment the ball leaves your hand until it hits the ground, its horizontal acceleration is zero and its vertical acceleration is 9.8 m/s^2 downward. It makes no difference what direction you throw it.

It will slow down and fall back due to the laws of physics, (the specific law of gravity.)
