Let
z=x+iy. Then

|z-1|=√((x-1)^2+y^2)

|z+1|=√((x+1)^2+y^2)

\implies (x-1)^2+y^2=(x+1)^2+y^2

\implies (x-1)^2=(x+1)^2

\implies -2x=2x

\implies x=0
