A pacemaker is a device implanted in the heart for the proper heart beating. A client with a permanent pacemaker implantation should be given postimplantation instructions that includes:
1. Always carry the pacemaker implantation card.
2. Continue all medication as directed.
3. Always carry the doctor's phone number.
4. Avoid lifting and stretching hands for atleast six weeks.
5. Avoid any kind of exercise for six weeks.
6. Do not drive until directed by your doctor.
7. Ask you doctor before going back to work.
8. Stay away from electric fields and magnetic devices.
