It's been a while since I done chemistry, so take my answer with a grain of salt.

If I remember correctly, there are two types of bonds:

Covalent
Ionic

There are subgroups within those bonds, but don't worry about that.

Ionic bonds take electrons from another element.

Covalent bonds share electrons with other elements.

From the picture above, it seems like chloride is taking an element from sodium, so I would say that is a representation of an ionic bond in the picture above.
