World War II was a chief funder in great changes in the economy of Massachusetts. After the war, the United States was engrossed on the military and relation to business, which alters the Massachusetts from a factory-based economy to one that is based on amenities and technologies. The United States built conveniences that may defend the workers. Another is that the government conventions, private savings, and research facilities which eventually produced a contemporary commerce; this led to the decrease of idleness. In addition, the suburbanization and urban deterioration which exposed the modification between social groups that may lead to a restitution of ethnic rigidity. The problems that emerged during those times includes declining population, middle-class fight, departure of industry, rising taxes, low property values, and competition among ethnic groups.
