The basic format for an exponential equation is y=ab^x
You know the Initial value is 16 and the decay constant is 0.5:
y=16x0.5^x
Percent increased by: 0.5/16 x 100%
=3.125%

Sample problem:
Scientists started with an unknown sample. They weighed 16 grams of it. They noticed soon after that the sample was decaying at the speed of 0.5 grams every year. Model an equation.
