URGENTLY ANSWER! I HAVE ONLY A COUPLE MINUTES TO DO THIS!

What would be the main problem with reproduction if meiosis did not take place to form sex cells?

A. The zygote would have two nuclei.
B. Fertilization would result in a zygote with half as many chromosomes as the parents.
C. Fertilization would result in a zygote with twice as many chromosomes as the parents.
D. The zygote would have no nucleus.

Fertilization in that case would make a tetraploid zygote.
To maintain the diploid 2n number for the species, that zygote would then have to undergo a reduction division that evicted half the chromosomes in an organized manner. I don't know if that helps or not, i found that on a good website to be honest i couldn't find a clear answer.
