What is the median for this set of numbers?


10, 9, 23 , 68, 70, 4, 12, 4

First, change the order of the numbers do that they are from least to greatest.
4, 4, 9, 10, 12, 23, 68, 70
Then, find the "middle" number in this list.
This case, there are two middle numbers: 10 and 12.
Take the average, or mean, of these two.
Your answer is 11.

Line up the numbers least to greatest.

4, 4, 9, 10, 12, 23, 68, 70

Cancel them out and you are left with 10 and 12.

Add 10 and 12 then divide by 2.

The median is 11.
