So x is one number and x + 1 is another

1. x + x + 1 = 57;
2. 2x + 1 = 57;
-1 -1
4. 2x = 56
5. x = 56/2
6. x = 28

So, x + 1 = 28 + 1 = 29
So 28 and 29 are the 2 consecutive integers of 57

Can someone please help me with this? Preferably ASAP
