A metapopulation is a group of separate, in ecology, it is a regional or group of connected populations of species. It is an isolated population that has individuals occasionally disperse between the habit islands. Bighorn sheep are found in dry desert mountains of Southeastern California. A result of morphometric measurements and protein and mtDNA analysis, Ramey recommended that only Desert Bighorn Sheep and the Sierra Nevada population would only be recognized as a separate species.
