Who has been credited as the inventor (or rediscoverer) of linear perspective?

Linear perspective drawing is originally credited to Filippo Brunelleschi, an Italian Renaissance architect, back in 1415. It was then rediscovered and properly documented in 1435 by architect and writer Leon Battista Alberti.
