Well one reason is if the body's been changed (like by fire or mutilation or something). Another reason is if the patient has maybe a gunshot wound but also drugs in his bloodstream it can be hard to say which happened first: overdose or shot. And another reason might be whether it's suicide or murder. Some things about the body might say homicide and some might say murder. Just some things I thought of, hope that helps!
