The answer to this question would be: oxygen atom

An atom can have a different character because it was made up by the interaction of the number of their proton, electron, and neutrons. Proton from oxygen atom will be same as the protons from gold atoms. So, if you take 8 protons and replace 8 protons, the number of protons will not change so the atom will be still an oxygen.
