Why did some colonists stay loyal to Britain?

They thought that rebellion was morally wrong, they were attached to Britain, they were promised freedom from slavery, they felt that being a part of Britain was crucial to commerce and business operations.

Many colonists remained loyal to Britain during the revolutionary war because they wanted England's protection and were afraid that if they were to separate from the British that they would be invaded.
